disproportion

Lack of symmetry

Disproportion is a lack of balance or proper relation between parts—when something is too large, too small, or otherwise out of scale with what it should match: the disproportion between the crime and the punishment, a disproportion of wealth.

The word emphasizes imbalance more than simple difference.

As a verb, to disproportion is to make things unequal, though this use is rare.
