skeletonised
Reduced to framework
Skeletonised is the British spelling of skeletonized.
It describes something reduced to its skeleton or framework—either literally, as with a leaf whose soft tissue has decayed leaving only veins, or figuratively, as with a workforce stripped to minimal staffing.
In watchmaking, a skeletonised movement has material cut away to reveal the inner workings: a skeletonised dial.
