cased

Enclosed in container

Cased means enclosed in a case or covering: cased in leather, cased meats.

In criminal slang, to case a place is to observe it carefully before a robbery—so cased describes a location that's been surveyed: They cased the joint for weeks.

In typography, cased refers to text converted to a particular letter case: upper-cased, lower-cased.
