signature tune

Show's opening music

A signature tune is a piece of music regularly associated with a particular performer, radio program, or television show—typically played at the opening, closing, or both.

The term is more common in British English; Americans often say theme song or theme music.

The orchestra struck up Johnny Carson's signature tune.
