shakycam

Handheld filming style

Shakycam is a filming technique using handheld or deliberately unstable camera movement to create a raw, documentary-like feel.

Common in horror films, found-footage movies, and action sequences, it aims for immediacy and realism but can induce motion sickness in viewers: The shakycam made the chase scene feel intense but gave me a headache.

Also called shaky cam.
