Paddle holding method
Shakehand describes a grip style in table tennis where the paddle is held as if shaking hands with it—thumb on one side, fingers wrapped around the other.
It contrasts with the penhold grip common in Asian play: Most Western players use the shakehand grip.
The term occasionally appears as a nonstandard spelling of handshake.
