sensor bar
Infrared position reader
A sensor bar is a device that emits infrared light to help a motion-sensing controller determine its position relative to a screen.
The term is most associated with the Nintendo Wii, whose sensor bar sits above or below the television: Make sure the sensor bar is centered with your TV.
Despite its name, the bar doesn't actually sense anything—the controller does.
