infrared light
Invisible thermal rays
Infrared light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than visible red light but shorter than microwaves.
Invisible to human eyes, it's perceived as heat—thermal cameras detect it, remote controls transmit it, and the sun bathes us in it.
Infrared light from the fireplace warmed her face.
Night-vision devices amplify infrared to see in darkness.
