scambaiting
Conning the conmen
Scambaiting is the practice of deliberately engaging with online scammers to waste their time, expose their methods, or frustrate their operations.
Scambaiters pose as gullible victims, stringing along fraudsters with fake interest, ridiculous requests, or elaborate personas: He spent three hours scambaiting a tech support scammer.
The activity ranges from casual time-wasting to organized efforts that document and report criminal networks.
