rice plants
Wetland cereal crops
Rice plants are the cereal grasses that produce rice, one of the world's most important food crops.
They grow in flooded paddies or wetlands, with slender stalks reaching several feet tall before producing grain-bearing panicles.
The rice plants swayed in the breeze before harvest.
Most rice cultivation involves transplanting seedlings into standing water.
