flooded field
Saturated agricultural plot
A flooded field is agricultural land intentionally covered with shallow water, typically for rice cultivation.
Rice paddies are the most common example, where controlled flooding creates the waterlogged conditions the crop requires.
The term also describes fields temporarily submerged by heavy rain or irrigation: The flooded fields reflected the sky like mirrors.
