retranscribed

Written out anew

Retranscribed means transcribed again—converted anew from one form to another, typically from audio or handwriting into typed text.

The prefix re- indicates repetition, usually because the first transcription was flawed, incomplete, or lost: The damaged court records were retranscribed from backup recordings.

In molecular biology, retranscribed describes RNA converted back into DNA, reversing the usual transcription direction.
