resowing
Second planting effort
Resowing is the act of sowing seeds again, typically after an initial planting fails or produces poor results: The late frost killed the seedlings, so we're resowing next week.
Farmers resow fields when germination is patchy or crops are damaged.
The term applies literally to agriculture and figuratively to any effort at replanting or starting over.
