resections
Cutting out procedures
Resections is the plural of resection, a surgical procedure in which part of an organ or tissue is removed: The tumor required multiple resections over several years.
The term appears most often in medical contexts—bowel resections, liver resections, lung resections.
Outside surgery, resection has a technical meaning in surveying involving precise angle measurements.
