religionists

Devoted spiritual practitioners

Religionists are people devoted to religion, especially those who make religion central to their worldview or identity.

The term often carries a slightly dismissive tone, used by secular speakers to characterize those they see as excessively focused on religious doctrine: The religionists want to impose their values on everyone else.

Less commonly, it simply means adherents of a particular faith.
