relacing

Redoing the laces

Relacing is the act of lacing something again—replacing or redoing laces that have worn out, broken, or come undone.

Most often applied to shoes and boots: I spent the afternoon relacing my hiking boots.

Also used for sports equipment like lacrosse sticks or baseball gloves, where the leather lacing eventually needs renewal.
