rehomings
Finding new families
Rehomings are instances of finding new homes for pets or animals that can no longer stay with their current owners.
The term appears in discussions of animal rescue and adoption: The shelter handled over two hundred rehomings last year.
It can also apply to relocating plants or, more controversially, to informal transfers of adopted children between families.
