recurve
Curve in reverse
To recurve is to curve backward or in the opposite direction.
The term appears most often in archery: a recurve bow has tips that curve away from the archer, storing more energy than a simple bow.
In meteorology, a hurricane recurves when it curves back toward the pole after initially moving west.
The blade recurves slightly at the tip.
