radio interference
Broadcast reception problems
Radio interference is unwanted electrical signals that disrupt radio communication or reception.
Static, buzzing, or distorted audio results when stray electromagnetic energy—from nearby electronics, power lines, or atmospheric conditions—overlaps with the intended signal: The broadcast was ruined by radio interference from the storm.
Also called radio-frequency interference or RFI.
