racing greyhound
Swift betting dog
A racing greyhound is a greyhound bred and trained for competitive track racing, where dogs chase a mechanical lure around an oval course.
The breed's slender build and exceptional speed—reaching 45 miles per hour—make them ideal for the sport.
The racing greyhound retired at age four and was adopted as a pet.
Many greyhound rescue organizations find homes for dogs after their racing careers end.
