sighthound
Speed-hunting dog type
A sighthound is a dog bred to hunt by sight rather than scent, pursuing prey at high speed across open terrain.
Greyhounds, whippets, and Afghan hounds are sighthounds.
The group shares a distinctive build: lean, long-legged, deep-chested, with keen vision.
Sighthounds can spot movement from remarkable distances.
