English bulldog
Stocky British breed
An English bulldog is a stocky, muscular breed of dog with a distinctive pushed-in face, wrinkled skin, and wide stance.
Originally bred for bull-baiting in England, the modern bulldog is docile and affectionate despite its fierce appearance.
The breed is known for breathing difficulties due to its flat face: English bulldogs overheat easily in summer.
Often shortened to bulldog.
