puncheon
Big wine container
A puncheon is a large cask for wine, beer, or other liquids, typically holding 70 to 120 gallons.
The term also refers to a short, heavy timber used as a supporting post, or a rough floor plank split from a log with one side hewn flat—common in rustic or frontier construction: a cabin with a puncheon floor.
