public voting
Transparent electoral participation
Public voting is a voting system where ballots are cast openly rather than in secret—voters' choices are visible to others or recorded in a way that can be traced back to individuals.
Before the secret ballot became standard, public voting was common: voters might raise hands, voice their choice aloud, or sign their names to public rolls.
The term also describes any voting process open to the general public rather than restricted to members: The award winner was chosen by public voting.
