isolette
Newborn warming chamber
An isolette is an enclosed, temperature-controlled unit for newborn infants, especially premature babies who need a protected environment.
The transparent plastic chamber maintains warmth, humidity, and oxygen levels while allowing medical staff to monitor and access the infant: The preemie spent her first three weeks in an isolette.
Originally a brand name, now used generically for any infant incubator.
