overdevelopment
Too much building
Overdevelopment is excessive or inappropriate building and construction, especially when it strains infrastructure, damages environments, or diminishes quality of life.
The term often appears in debates about urban sprawl, coastal construction, or neighborhood density: Overdevelopment has ruined the character of the old downtown.
In photography, overdevelopment means processing film too long, resulting in excessive contrast or grain.
