potboy
Inn's young assistant
A potboy is a young man or boy employed at a pub or tavern to collect empty glasses, wash dishes, and perform other menial tasks.
The term is chiefly British and somewhat old-fashioned, evoking the era of coaching inns and alehouses: The potboy hurried to clear the tables before the evening crowd arrived.
