point differential
Victory margin size
Point differential is the difference between points scored and points allowed, used in sports to measure a team's overall performance beyond wins and losses.
A positive differential means a team outscores opponents; negative means they're outscored.
It often serves as a tiebreaker in standings: They finished 8-4 but missed the playoffs on point differential.
