playoff bracket
Competition seeding diagram
A playoff bracket is a diagram showing how teams or competitors advance through elimination rounds in a tournament.
Winners move forward; losers are eliminated.
The structure typically halves the field each round until a champion emerges.
Brackets are central to office pools and sports betting: I filled out my bracket for March Madness.
To bust a bracket is for unexpected results to invalidate predictions.
