box score

Newspaper sports table

A box score is a statistical summary of a game, typically presented in tabular form.

It originated in baseball, where it records each player's at-bats, hits, runs, and other performance data in a compact grid.

The format has spread to basketball, hockey, and other sports: I checked the box score to see how many points he scored.
