box scores
Sports page numbers
A box score is a statistical summary of a sports game, presented in tabular form.
It records each player's performance in key categories—runs, hits, and errors in baseball; points, rebounds, and assists in basketball.
The name comes from the boxed grid format.
Sports pages traditionally feature box scores alongside game reports: I always check the box scores to see how my favorite players performed.
