plaster mold
Form for casting
A plaster mold is a casting form made from plaster of Paris, used to shape ceramics, sculptures, or other materials.
The porous plaster absorbs moisture from clay slip, allowing controlled thickness in slip casting: She poured the slip into the plaster mold and waited for it to set.
Plaster molds can reproduce identical forms repeatedly.
