paycheck
Worker's periodic compensation
A paycheck is the regular payment an employee receives for work, or the physical or digital document representing it: I deposit my paycheck every Friday.
By extension, paycheck often stands for one's job or income generally: She's just working for a paycheck, living paycheck to paycheck.
The latter phrase describes financial precarity—spending each payment before the next arrives.
