paunchiness
Abdominal fat accumulation
The quality of having a paunch—a protruding belly, especially on a man.
Paunchiness suggests middle-aged spread rather than outright obesity: He tried to hide his growing paunchiness under loose shirts.
The word carries mild self-deprecation or gentle mockery rather than harsh judgment.
