pathnames
Routes to files
Pathnames are the strings of text that identify the location of files or directories in a computer's file system.
A pathname traces the route from a starting point through nested folders to a destination: The pathname /Users/admin/Documents/report.pdf tells the system exactly where to find the file.
Absolute pathnames begin from the root directory; relative pathnames begin from the current location.
