Gynecological cancer tests
Pap smears is the plural of Pap smear, a screening test for cervical cancer in which cells are collected from the cervix and examined under a microscope.
Named after George Papanicolaou, the physician who developed it.
Routine Pap smears detect abnormal cells before they become cancerous: Her doctor recommended Pap smears every three years.
