panfried
Cooked in butter
Panfried describes food cooked in a shallow layer of fat in a pan, as opposed to deep-fried (submerged in oil) or sautéed (quickly tossed in minimal fat).
The method produces a crispy exterior while keeping the interior moist: panfried pork chops, panfried potatoes.
Also spelled pan-fried.
