pampas grass
Tall South American
Pampas grass is a tall ornamental grass native to South America, known for its dramatic feathery plumes that rise above dense clumps of foliage.
It grows wild on the pampas—the vast grasslands of Argentina—and is planted decoratively in gardens and landscaping: The pampas grass along the driveway had grown eight feet tall.
In some regions, displaying pampas grass has become associated with swinging or open relationships, though most who plant it remain unaware of this reputation.
