ozone-friendly

Won't harm stratosphere

Ozone-friendly describes products or processes that don't damage the ozone layer—the atmospheric shield that blocks harmful ultraviolet radiation.

The term emerged in the late 1980s as manufacturers phased out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) from aerosol sprays, refrigerants, and packaging: ozone-friendly hairspray, ozone-friendly air conditioning.

Now somewhat dated, as most such chemicals have been banned.
