isobutane

Branched butane variant

Isobutane is a hydrocarbon gas used as a refrigerant, aerosol propellant, and fuel.

It's a structural variant of butane—same atoms arranged differently, making it useful where regular butane won't do.

The canister uses isobutane as a propellant.

It burns cleaner than some alternatives and appears in camping stove fuel blends.
