overtightness
Too much squeeze
Overtightness is the condition of being too tight.
A bolt torqued beyond specification has overtightness that can strip threads or crack materials.
The term applies to physical tension—overtightness in the shoulders—or figurative constraint: The overtightness of the regulations left no room for judgment.
