overcommunication

Too much talking

Overcommunication is sharing more information than necessary or appropriate, often to the point of diminishing returns.

In workplace contexts, it sometimes carries positive connotations—managers who overcommunicate keep teams informed rather than leaving them guessing: I'd rather err on the side of overcommunication.

But it can also mean drowning people in unnecessary updates, redundant emails, or excessive detail that obscures what matters.
