overassessment
Rating too high
Overassessment is the act of assessing something too highly, whether in value, importance, or difficulty.
In property taxation, an overassessment means the assessed value exceeds fair market value, resulting in higher taxes: They appealed the overassessment of their home.
More broadly, it can mean overestimating: an overassessment of the risks involved.
