overassessed
Judged too harshly
Overassessed describes something that has been evaluated too highly, whether in monetary value or importance.
Property that is overassessed carries an inflated tax valuation: They appealed, arguing their home was overassessed by forty thousand dollars.
The term also applies to exaggerated judgments of risk, threat, or significance: The danger was overassessed.
