ordinals
First, second, third
Ordinals are numbers that indicate position in a sequence: first, second, third, fourth, and so on.
They answer "which one?" rather than "how many?" She finished in third place.
The term also refers to the written forms—1st, 2nd, 3rd.
In some Christian traditions, an ordinal is a book of liturgical rites for ordination.
