Internet discussion space
An online forum is a website or section of a website where users post messages in threaded discussions, typically organized by topic.
Unlike real-time chat, forum posts persist and accumulate, creating searchable archives of conversations.
Forums dominated internet community-building before social media: I found the answer on a car repair forum.
Also called a message board or discussion board.
