Separate journal excerpt
An offprint is a separately printed copy of an article or chapter that originally appeared in a larger publication.
Before digital distribution, scholars would order offprints of their journal articles to share with colleagues: She mailed offprints to researchers in the field.
The practice persists but has largely been replaced by PDFs.
