oaktag

Thick craft paper

Oaktag is a sturdy, heavy paper or light cardboard, typically manila-colored, used for crafts, posters, and school projects.

It holds up better than regular paper when cut, folded, or painted, making it a staple in elementary classrooms and art supply stores.

We used oaktag to make flashcards and science fair displays.

The term is especially common in the northeastern United States; elsewhere it may be called tagboard or poster board.
