non-op

Without an operation

Non-op describes a transgender person who has not had and does not plan to have gender confirmation surgery.

The term is neutral and descriptive, used within trans communities to distinguish from those who are pre-op (planning surgery) or post-op (having had it): She's non-op and comfortable with that decision.

Some prefer it to signal that surgery isn't necessary for their transition.
