newsgirls
Female paper carriers
Newsgirls is the plural of newsgirl—a girl or young woman who sells or delivers newspapers.
The term dates from when newspaper sales on street corners were common, typically handled by children.
Like newsboy, the word now sounds dated, as print newspaper distribution has declined and the job has largely disappeared.
